Interfaith Mediation Centre Founders Win Inaugural Commonwealth Peace Prize We are thrilled to announce that our co-founders, Imam Dr. Muhammad Nurayn Ashafa and Reverend Dr. James Movel Wuye, have been awarded the first-ever Commonwealth Peace Prize!
On this International Women’s Day, the Interfaith Mediation Centre Kaduna-Nigeria proudly celebrates the resilience, courage, and leadership of women in peacebuilding and interfaith dialogue. Women of faith have long been at the forefront of fostering unity, resolving conflicts, and strengthening the social fabric of our communities.
As we mark this special day, we reaffirm our commitment to empowering women as mediators, advocates, and change-makers. Through continuous dialogue, capacity-building, and collaboration, we strive to create a society where women’s voices are heard, their contributions are valued, and their leadership in peace and development is recognized.
We call on all stakeholders, religious leaders, policymakers, and communities to support and invest in women’s efforts toward sustainable peace. Together, we can build a future where inclusion, justice, and harmony thrive. Happy International Women’s Day✌️

The Interfaith Mediation Centre (IMC), through its Climate Change and Environment Desk, in collaboration with African Climate Reporters (ACR) and the Kaduna State Government’s Office on Climate Change, hosted the January edition of the Monthly Climate Hangout in Kaduna.
This critical forum brought together scientists, geologists, environmental journalists, civil society organizations, NGOs, traditional and religious leaders, among other key stakeholders, to tackle the pressing challenges of climate change and insecurity across the 19 northern states of Nigeria.
Promoting peace through community engagement not only fosters understanding and collaboration but also helps to establish lasting bonds among individuals within the community. By encouraging open dialogue and shared experiences, community engagement empowers people to come together, work towards common goals, and create harmonious environments.
Our project partners and funders play a crucial role in promoting peace-building initiatives.
